Traffic:  
Daily Traffic averages were analyzed for various points in Sublette Co. (See
links to charts  below).

Some trends include:

  • Traffic has increased by 60% or more since 1995 everywhere in Sublette
    Co, except for ''The Rim" on Hwy 189/191 which is up only +/- 20%.

  • Big Truck Traffic has shown huge increases in Big Piney/Marbleton,
    Pinedale, Hwy 351, and U.S. Hwy 191 between Sand Draw and Farson.
    Big Truck Traffic has decreased in Daniel and on ''The Rim''.

  • Car/Pickup traffic has increased between Pinedale and Big
    Piney/Marbleton at on U.S. Hwy 189 and 191, but with smaller increases
    over "The Rim", suggesting travel between the North and South County
    has increased greatly since 2000.

  • Traffic on WYO Hwy 351 has shown huge increases.

  • Traffic going over "The Rim" is highly correlated with Grand Teton National
    Park visitor numbers (details coming soon).
Daniel Junction:

Daily Traffic counts for 2005 and 2004 were obtained for Daniel
Junction.  The Daniel Junction Dataset is here.

Daniel Junction as a whole:

2005:   2971 Vehicles per Day on Average (a 9.5% increase over 2004).

2004:   2712 Vehicles per Day on Average.

Hwy 191 heading east of Daniel Junction towards Pinedale

2005:  2607 Vehicles Per Day on Average Traveled Through Daniel Jct. on Hwy. 191 South  
or about 17% more than 2004. Of all Vehicles in Daniel Jct., 84.25%  used Hwy 191 South.

2004:  2232 Vehicles Per Day on Average Traveled Through Daniel Junction on Hwy. 191
South or 82% of all Vehicles.

Hwy 189 heading south of Daniel Junction towards Marbleton

2005:  1374 Vehicles Per Day on Average Traveled Through Daniel Jct. on Hwy. 189 South
or about 9% more than 2004. Of all Vehicles in Daniel Jct., 48.86%  used Hwy 189 South.

2004:  1262 Vehicles Per Day on Average Traveled Through Daniel Jct. on Hwy. 189 South  
or 47.54% of all Vehicles.

Hwy 189/191 heading north of Daniel Junction towards Jackson.  

2005:  1960 Vehicles Per Day on Average Traveled Through Daniel Jct. on Hwy. 189/191
North or about 1.5% more than 2004. Of all Vehicles in Daniel Jct., 67.04%  used Hwy
189/191 North.

2004:  1930 Vehicles Per Day on Average Traveled Through Daniel Jct. on Hwy. 189/191
North or 70.68% of all Vehicles.
